As an organization, the Manhattan Alliance for Peace and Justice strives to equip leaders and organizers with the tools, skills, and confidence to make meaningful change in their communities. In 2023, our goal is to partner with groups to establish trainings for community organizing, running for office, and participating in community boards.

If you are interested in trainings right now, please email us at mhkmapj@gmail.com and we can get you connected!

Previous Trainings

In 2019, MAPJ ran a series of direct action community organizing trainings throughout northeast Kansas. By spending time in different communities we affirmed that the people hold the power.

“MAPJ’s Community Organizing Workshop provides meaningful, pragmatic guiding experience to the nuts and bolts of collective action. The trainers are as warm and inviting as they are experienced and focused, and the workshop’s content is accessible, detailed, and directly applicable to the community organizing efforts I take part in. The experience is invaluable for anyone either just getting started in community organizing efforts, or looking for like-minded individuals to further develop their skill set and knowledge.”
